OC3 GALLERY
R.I.S.E.
presented by Strange Powers Press
April 4 – 25, 2026
Closing Reception: April 25, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

During the month of April (Dallas Arts Month) Oak Cliff Cultural Center’s OC3 Gallery will host Strange Powers Press, a small risograph studio based in Oak Cliff. Through their project R.I.S.E., an acronym for Riso Inspires Social Empowerment, Strange Powers Press will provide a series of riso printing workshops throughout the month.
The medium of risograph, with its blend of screen print and copy machine attributes, has ties to histories of printmaking for activism and social justice.
Workshops will invite participants to create their own risograph prints, posters, and stickers as a means of expressing social unrest. Participants can utilize the power of protest art as a catalyst for change through visualizing resistance and amplifying their voices. Through this project we hope to help facilitate a safe space that encourages positive change and healing in our communities.
Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their completed prints and posters in the gallery throughout the month beginning with the completion of the first workshop on April 4. A closing reception on Saturday, April 25 will celebrate the work made in community.
