Forget Me Not is a group exhibition featuring Flower Shop Artist Residency spring 2024 cohort artists Sue Montoya, Sam Rawls, Sarah Reagan, Cecilia Sierra, Jesus Trevino, and Cielo Zuniga. The exhibit opens with an artist talk from 5-6 pm followed by a reception from 6-8 pm on August 8, at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center.
“Forget Me Not” examines the preservation of memories around love, self-exploration, and grief toward collective healing after living and cross-pollinating on the border town of Brownsville, Texas, in March 2024 as part of the Flower Shop’s Artist in Residency. This exhibition is a token of keeping love and memories alive through photography, sculpture, painting, printmaking, textiles, and animation to explore ideas of remembrance, healing, placemaking, re-building, and nostalgia.
